MIKE STANKOVIC vs. ROWDIES, 1980

Stankovic came to the Rogues from the Chicago amateur leagues.  He became an instant star in the 1980 indoor season where he won the MVP award.  His great play continued outdoors that same year.  After the Rogues he went to Dallas Tornado and then to MISL.

I took this picture with my brother's totally manual 35mm camera.  I had no idea what I was doing. I am pretty sure the Rogues' player is Paul Cannell.

FIRST HOME GAME AD, 1978

I just found this last night.  It was in an old scrapbook I had from high school.  It ran in the newspaper the day of the Rogues very first homegame, April 8, 1978.  I can remember people complaining that the ticket prices were too high!  Hey, they offered free parking!

MEMORIES FROM THE '78 SEASON

 The inaugural season, 1978, had some great moments.  The first win against the Dallas Tornado and defeating the mighty New York Cosmos 1-0 were unforgettable.

Scott Ross is the artist that created the "Roger Rowdie" character for the Tampa Bay Rowdies.  This poster was sold by mail order through KICK Magazine during the 1979 season.
