San Jose Earthquakes 'keeper Gerrit Vooys can only watch as Roman Rosul,s shot flies past him in a match played June 14, 1978 at the Liberty Bowl.  The Rogues went on to win 4-1 with Rosul getting a hat trick.

I have been trying to find one of these posters for years!  It features Alan Birchenall and Phil Beal from a 1978 game against the Philadelphia Fury.  I believe it was a mail order premium from the 1979 Topps NASL stickers.  If anyone has one for sale, PLEASE let me know!  Also if anyone has any Memphis Rogues memorabilia they would like to sell, let me know!

MALCOLM ALLISON TESTIMONIAL MATCH, 1993

 

Program for Malcolm Allison's Testimonial Match held March 28, 1993.   Allison was hired to be the Rogues first coach.  The pregame match featured "old" Crystal Palace FC players and included former Memphis Rogues Tony Burns and Phil Holder. 

ROGUES' FAN MEMORIES, 1978

Rogue's fan Greg sent me this great scan of a newspaper clipping from July 20, 1978.  The Rogues played a local restaurant in a charity softball game.  Greg had his picture taken getting an autograph from Alan Birchenall.  He recently found the clip at his aunt's house.  I was at this game too and it was a lot of fun.  The Rogues players were joking with the fans and tried to play softball like cricket.  Birchenall was a huge fan favorite.  He was the joker of the team.  What is "The Birch" hiding behind that magazine?  His cigarette!  Thanks Greg, I really appreciate you sharing this Rogues' memory!
